As a Linux Administrator at 8Dots, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our Linux-based systems. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and applications.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard systems and data.
  • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network-related issues.
  • Collaborate with network administrators to ensure seamless connectivity.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions.
  • Test and validate backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Provide support to end-users, addressing technical issues and ensuring a positive user experience.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve escalated issues.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine administrative tasks.
  • Implement configuration management tools for efficient system management.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Keep documentation up-to-date with changes and improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Linux Administrator in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in Linux server administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and tools.
  • Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
